Weather Derivatives and Seasonal Forecast
The purpose of this paper is to incorporate the CPC (Climate Prediction Center) seasonal forecast in the temperature process so that conditional means and conditional variances of both the temperature and the CDD (Cooling Degree Day) may be redetermined in accordance with the seasonal forecasting probabilities. Under the Gaussian property of the underlying process, the prices of the CDD options...
متن کاملMultilingual Weather Forecast Generation System
The MLWFA (Multilingual Weather Forecasts Assistant) system will be demonstrated. It is developed to generate the multilingual text of the weather forecasts automatically. The raw data from the weather observation can be used to generate the weather element chart. According to the weather change trend, the forecasters can directly modify the value Of the element on the chart, such as the center...

This paper reports experiments in which pCRU — a generation framework that combines probabilistic generation methodology with a comprehensive model of the generation space — is used to semi-automatically create several versions of a weather forecast text generator. The generators are evaluated in terms of output quality, development time and computational efficiency against (i) human forecaster...
متن کاملFuzzy weather forecast in forecasting pollution concentrations
In this paper we want to analyse fuzzy weather forecasts, which are computed in our system and used to forecast pollution concentrations. The system works on real data: weather forecasts, meteorological situations and pollution concentrations. We compare defuzzification of the fuzzy weather forecast with weather forecast from Institute of Meteorology and Water Management. This comprehensive ana...
